The exact steps to install eSIM on Android can vary slightly depending on your device manufacturer (Samsung, Google, Motorola, etc.) and Android version. This guide covers the most common methods.

Note: Menu names might differ slightly - look for "SIM cards", "Mobile network", "Connections", or "Network & internet" in Settings.

Unlocked Device

Your Android phone must be carrier unlocked. Contact your carrier if unsure.

Internet Connection

You need Wi-Fi or mobile data to download and activate your eSIM.

QR Code or Activation Code

Have your eSIM QR code from GoConnect email ready.

Open Settings

Open the Settings app on your Samsung device.

Tap Connections.

Go to SIM Manager

Tap SIM card manager or SIM manager.

Then tap Add mobile plan or Add eSIM.

Scan QR Code or Enter Manually

Option A: Tap Scan QR code and use your camera to scan the QR code from your GoConnect email.

Option B: Tap Enter activation code and paste the code (starting with "LPA:") from your email.

Activate eSIM

Tap Add or Download.

Wait for the eSIM profile to download and activate (1-2 minutes).

Enable Data Roaming

Go back to Connections → Mobile networks.

Toggle on Data roaming for your new eSIM.

Done! Your Samsung device is now connected with GoConnect eSIM.

Google Pixel Devices

Open Settings

Open the Settings app.

Tap Network & internet.

Add eSIM

Tap the + (plus) icon next to "SIMs" or tap Mobile network.

Select Download a SIM instead? or Add a network.

Scan or Enter Code

Tap Next and scan the QR code from your email.

Or tap Need help? → Enter it manually to type the activation code.

Complete Setup

Tap Download and wait for activation.

Once complete, tap Done.

Enable Roaming for your new eSIM in Mobile network settings.

Scan QR Code

Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code from your GoConnect email.

Alternatively, enter the activation code manually if available.

Activate & Enable Roaming

Confirm download/activation and wait for completion.

Go to mobile network settings and enable Data roaming for the eSIM.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

"No Service" or "No Network"

Solution:

  • Ensure Data roaming is enabled for the eSIM
  • Turn Mobile data on
  • Toggle Airplane mode on/off
  • Restart your device
  • Manually select a network operator

"Cannot Add eSIM" Error

Solution:

  • Verify your device is carrier unlocked
  • Check you're running Android 9.0 or later
  • Ensure stable internet connection (Wi-Fi preferred)
  • Try clearing cache: Settings → Apps → SIM Manager → Clear cache
  • Restart device and try again

QR Code Scanner Issues

Solution:

  • Ensure good lighting when scanning
  • Clean your camera lens
  • Increase QR code size on display
  • Hold phone steady at proper distance
  • Use manual entry method instead

Slow Data Speeds

Solution:

  • Check network coverage in your area
  • Switch between 4G/5G in network settings
  • Try manually selecting different network
  • Check your data balance/plan limits
  • Reset network settings if persistent

eSIM Not Activating

Solution:

  • Wait 5-10 minutes - activation can take time
  • Check your email for correct QR code
  • Verify you haven't already used this eSIM
  • Ensure eSIM is enabled in SIM settings
  • Contact GoConnect support if issue persists
